The University of Wisconsin women's basketball team has seen its first player enter the transfer portal this offseason, with sophomore forward Alie Bisballe announcing her departure from the program.
Bisballe, a 6-foot-3 forward from Rice Lake, Wisconsin, appeared in 22 games this past season, averaging 1.5 points and 1.4 rebounds in limited minutes. Her career-high outing was a six-point performance against Illinois State in November. A former standout at Rice Lake High School, she was a three-time All-Northwest selection and finished her prep career as the school's all-time leading scorer.
Her decision marks a shift for the Badgers' roster under head coach Marisa Moseley, who is now entering her third season. The coaching staff expressed gratitude for Bisballe's contributions and wished her well in her future endeavors. The departure opens a scholarship spot for the program as it looks to build upon last season's record and continue its development within the competitive Big Ten conference. Bisballe's next destination has not yet been announced.
