Spring Sports Season in Review: A Bittersweet Farewell to Pilot Athletics

Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened. Smile also because the spring season of Pilot athletics has been one heck of a ride. To celebrate the sweet end of 2025-26 classes and the bitter close of spring sports, I’ve created a comprehensive review of the last semester of Pilot athletics and most valuable player (MVP) nominations for each squad.

The spring season delivered unforgettable moments across the board. The baseball team battled through a grueling schedule, showcasing resilience and clutch performances in tight conference matchups. Their ability to rally late in games became a defining trait, with several walk-off wins energizing the home crowd. The softball squad, meanwhile, dominated with a powerful lineup and stellar defense, posting one of the best records in recent memory. Their pitching staff consistently shut down opposing hitters, making every game a must-watch event.

On the track, the men’s and women’s teams shattered personal records and school marks alike. Distance runners led the charge, with multiple athletes qualifying for postseason meets. The field events also shined, as throwers and jumpers added crucial points in every competition. The tennis teams displayed remarkable depth, with singles and doubles players alike stepping up under pressure. Their teamwork and strategic adjustments kept them competitive against tough opponents.

As we close the chapter on spring sports, it’s time to recognize standout individuals. For baseball, the MVP nod goes to the senior shortstop who anchored the infield and led the team in batting average. Softball’s MVP belongs to the junior pitcher who recorded double-digit strikeouts in nearly every start. On the track, the distance runner who swept the 800 and 1500 meters earns the honor. For tennis, the freshman who won the most singles matches and never lost a conference dual match takes the title.

This spring season reminded us why we love Pilot athletics. The effort, the passion, and the memories will carry us through the summer and into the next year.
