Florida Poly's fledgling athletics program secures use of Auburndale sports facilities

The Florida Polytechnic University Phoenix, a brand-new athletics program still finding its footing, has secured a three-year agreement to use several sports facilities in Auburndale. The deal covers the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex, the Auburndale Softball Complex, and the Auburndale Community Center. This arrangement will kick off with the university's first-ever men's soccer match next month.

For a school that only recently launched its athletic department, having reliable home fields is a major step forward. The partnership gives the Phoenix a place to play while the university continues to build its own campus infrastructure. The Lake Myrtle Sports Complex, known for hosting regional tournaments, will serve as the primary venue for soccer. The softball complex will handle diamond sports, and the community center will provide indoor space for other athletic needs.

Officials from both sides described the agreement as a practical solution. Florida Poly gets immediate access to well-maintained facilities without the long wait of constructing its own. Auburndale gains regular use of its fields and a steady partnership with a growing university.
